We were doing the goat trail and at the very end of that section about MM 380 or so you come to a hard 90 to the left on a concrete road. I hit the brakes to slow down and the rear applied with way more force for some reason and the truck got sideways. The rear tire caught a rock or piece of concrete and it went over. We were only doing 20-25 mph when it went over. The major damage was from the roof landing on the edge of a Mexican drain directly on the center of the roof. Dan and I were both wearing Mastercraft 5 point harnesses and walked away with no soreness or scratches.

You log enough miles offroad eventually you will wreck or roll due to screwing up, mechanical issues, or both. No one was hurt so I am not upset one bit.

That's why the is no valid excuse for not having a cage. It doesn't always happen when going balls to the wall.

Great to hear no one was hurt. I have only been in one rollover at speed in a Class 8 and it hurt for a couple months, ribs and shoulders. 3 other times were all under 25 mph and with one broken arm. You never know if you are going to roll, even at slow speeds.

Looking forward to pictures of a reservation of Gumby!!!

So... been searching for a cab or complete truck as a donor. Found a cab in Reno but I am not sure I want to travel so far.

I also ended up ordering a set of Method 101 Race wheels, Glassworks 5pc front fiberglass, and Autofab 5" bulge rear glass. Probably going to pull the trigger on a new set of Mastercraft seats soon too.

Going to start stripping the truck ASAP and do the motor work while I have lots of room with cab and front clip off.

Most trucks I see are about 2k... looking for something cheaper... if I don't find one I may have to bite the bullet and spend a little.

I am also interested in body mount dimensions for 67-72 trucks, as I'd like to have aluminum pucks made. I may have to purchase a urethane kit to have something to measure.

Any reason not to just put a roof on? I'm not sure the damage of the rest of the cab- just thinking it might save a whole lot of effort on a truck that you are probably going to drive the F out of.:-)

The original cab was never tied into the frame. That caused the cab to push around the frame slightly. It also has a 1.5" cage and I want 2" tube cage. Removing the old cage, replacing the roof, and straightening the cab will take longer than just starting with a fresh one.

These trucks are simple so transferring everything over should be relatively quick.

I only plan on using the cab. It seems when you find cabs already removed from trucks the doors are gone and whoever has them has not been careful when moving them resulting in rocker / floor damage. A complete truck for $500-800 will return $100-200 in scrap plus whatever you make parting out.

My truck has some mismatch brake and column parts and buying a complete truck will solve those issues too.

New wheels showed up from Method.

Also, found a truck with a clean cab finally. Picking it up next week. I'm on the fence if I try to make time to cage it myself or just drop it off at a shop. All of the good shops seem to be back logged so I may not have a choice.

Got around to checking the gears in the new rear end. It has a 4.10 open diff. Going to order wheel studs, a spool, and some other bits and pieces for it tomorrow. It appears I will have to turn the OD of the hub down a little for the Dodge rotor I want to run to slip over. Only about .250 of material has to come off.
