While the trans lines have almost no pressure that really matters I'm just not a fan of compression fittings after seeing them used in oilfield treater applications. The factory lines are 5/16" so you 37* flare and use a -5an to -6an male/male adapter- never see an issue doing it this way.
I know this is a pretty old post, but i'm looking at converting my 96 to -an lines after having a bitch of a time getting the factory style stuff to seal up...

Do you want the entire line replaced or just partial? I just did a partial thing- the important part of you are converting the factory lines to -an is they are 5/16” and are a -5an - the -5an to -6an male/male aren’t hard to find but they can be a touch tricky. I’ll just say this hardline has a way that can be routed much tighter and ways that flex can’t which is why I think I converted the end of the hard lines vs full length flex.

Quick look what the lines look like and in my opinion a perfect route thru the radiator support...

The oval thru the support is done quickly with a hole saw, then cleaned up with a hand file. I will say you need to put a protective sleeve over the lines just to insure you don’t have an issue down the line

I'm going to use the same routing and flow as the factory stuff, just with better hose and fittings

More console pics. Had to put a small bump out in for just a touch more real estate. Maybe a cup holder poll of sorts. The smaller cup holders don’t burn up as much real estate but they don’t hold anything but basically a bottle of water/small soda; the large cup holders hold a cell phone or just bigger crap. I feel like you gotta have a cell phone holder because sometimes this truck just drives down the road and pulls into parking lots and you don’t want everything floating around- so I’m leaning towards the bigger cupholders. The one nice thing about the small cup holders is you can’t have anything without a cap on it so spills are probably much more reduced. Like normal I’m way over analyzing this lol!!

I’m going to build a housing that fits into the stock single din stereo opening but it started with about a 2 hour template tour. Basically where I’m putting the housing it’s able to access the trim which allows access to the 25 year old a/c controls should the need servicing. I hope this turns out cool because I might make them for sale.

I am interested to see how it turns out. One of these days I want to do a GPS In the new 72 Bronco, but I want the interior to keep the classic Bronco Dash. We will see when I get to that point. I have a lot to do.

I’ve seen the GPS setup like that on multiple OBS Ford’s. Looks killer in my opinion. If you do wind up making a mount for the GPS, in the stereo din, keep me posted!

Your points are valid on the cupholders. I go bigger though because bigger is better and yes, holding more crap does come in handy. I like the stepped cupholders like your larger one as they still hand hold a can or water bottle tighter at the bottom, but a larger cup still fits in. I know you have 2 different styles/colors of holders there but if you're super concerned on space maybe do 1 large & 1 small. Personally I'd go with 2 of the big ones though.

nice!

Have you thought about tilting it up slightly for better view angle from the driver's seat?

Well looking at most of the factory navigation units on cars and trucks I see - they are all central and pretty straight up and down. Obviously this isn't a race car or it would have 2 units or just on the pass side. I was hoping to just have the screen be easily visible from the pass side or driver side equally- hell I've got zero idea how in the hell to use the damn thing!

Thanks Robert - this build is closer to the end where I can actually drive it. Being spread out to so many places for so long has caused issues but the result has been pretty good but way too expensive lol!

The console is really turning out well but it's one of those things where you just can't cut corners. You're supposed to drive it on this day but because I'm working 27 - 13 hour days in a row, buying a house, moving - whatever it may be the progress moves at a almost in reverse pace- you never start the just get it finished mentality - it's finished when it's finished and not a minute earlier unfortunately.
