Got the engine cage and coil over mounts finished this last weekend. Now on to the radius arms. Then the fiberglass fender mounts!

Looking good!

What size bolt are your using on the radius mount and what type of sleeve did you use?

Thanks-- it's a 3/4" bolt and the sleeve is 1.25" x.250 wall DOMz. If that bolt should get bent then God help me :-)

I've been thinking more and more about this style of radius arms. How come now one runs a pair of bolts horizontally vs a single one vertically?

The arms are designed to pivot on the vertical bolt. If you bolted them horizontally, they might shear the bolts. You would create a weak design. At that point, it would be better to weld the radius arms to the housing with horizontal supports and gussets.

Here's the inside of a f150/bronco frame brace. If you look on a late model Chevy - GM uses a sleeve vs. the stamped piece. I was amazing how full of junk the frame was. I'm gonna have to power wash out the other side of the frame as I'm sure it's full too!

sorry the 80"s Econoline Saginaw Steering box.

with the 4 bolts Sag do 3 of the 4 holes line up with stock frame cast piece? or did the stock cast frame piece get removed?

from the plated picture on the frame it looks like they may have been re used.

Thanks Willie

The 80's Econoline are all over-- they were on Dodge Vans as well-- Ford is the only manufacturer that really uses a Ford product from what I have seen.

On the 4 bolt Saginaw box obviously 1 hole will work but the other 3 are nowhere close. I chose the rear bottom hole because it seemed to make the pitman arm placement be really really close to stock. The stock cast piece was taken out. There might be able to keep it but I didn't see how. If you used a 3-bolt Delphi box the bottom 2 holes are dead on but the top is not but would be the easiest to add by far. I removed the stock spacer piece in the frame first and then went on to sleeve the frame one sleeve at a time. Like anything-- do it the first time and it time consuming-- a second time and it would be much smoother.

Stock motor mounts are garbage! Second set I've pulled that were completely destroyed! If you have stock mounts I'm betting they are junk if they are original.
