Chipping away at it.

Finally got the regear done and built a little mini truss to hopefully keep the 8.8 alive for a while.

Planning on going down to follow norra race so trying to get this thing dialed in over the next month. Still a lot of little things to get done but it's coming along.

Thanks guys!!

It's been a busy week on the F1 project. I got the upgraded steering and Saginaw pump installed (thanks vintageironfab), man what a difference that makes for steering effort and feel. BIG improvement! Installed Autofab motor/trans mounts (seriously knucklebuster), new 3" magnaflow (nice and quiet now), built a radius arm brace, and I started on a jack/tire/fuel/storage tray that bolts into rear bed -- still a ways to go to get it done but I was just looking for something simple that I could remove easily if wanted.

On to electrical stuff this week, hopefully get lights, radio, and GPS wired up shortly. Still trying to figure out where to mount the Elite 7" GPS. I really don't want it down on the floor and I don't think the top of the dash is strong enough to support it on its own. Thinking I might make a 1 1/4 cross tube above the dash to mount it too..hopefully I'll get some time to mess with it this week too. Anybody else ever tech screwed a dash bar between the A pillars on their bronco or F150? Curious how that would would hold up.

Didn't get to my wiring, but got a few miscellaneous things done this week. Biggest accomplishment was mounting the GPS. I was thinking about making a bar across the dash between the pillars but after pulling the dash apart a little I realized I could add a little bracing below the center of the dash and just mount it there. Seems pretty solid, going to hit a little dirt tomorrow, hoping it doesn't shake around too bad.

Dicktab/starship enterprise gps mount.

Another small addition getting ready for Baja. Found a good size pelican case at local surplus shop. Added some cup holders. Should get the job done for lockable storage but leave room for legs of center seat passenger.

Beautiful picture of your truck and Baja. Congratulations on a big trip. Is that a picture of Bahia de Los Angeles o Bahia de Concepcion?

Thanks! Don't know the name of the bay but maybe an hours drive north of Loreto...several bays to pull off and camp at in that section, we stopped for photo ops at a fw of them. The Sea of Cortez is such a beautiful place.
