OG 94 Explorer Build
OG 94 Explorer Build
I guess one TTB Ford was not enough for me. Just picked this up. Going to keep it simple and build it old school style. No Led's, no coilovers, no fiberglass.
Plans are:
James Duff kit in front
Shackle lift & James Duff shocks in the rear
Swap to manual hubs
Locker up front
15" Outlaw 2's
33x10.50's
Sliders
New front bumper/grille
Ski rack delete
Side molding delete
Tint windows
That's about it for now, going to keep it simple and start doing some 4x4 stuff.

New warn oem style hubs
James Duff blue just wasn't doing it for me
Picked up the outlaw 2's
Mid way to being done. Punched out all the rivets
Going with this style. I really liked it on the Bronco

Gotta say these things are growing on me. Cheap, reliable and capable. Keep the updates coming.

They are great little rides & very capable. In stock form they are ugly as sin though! My buddy has one with lockers and it goes everywhere.

She's a beauty. Love that color! The GFB crew will slowly come around....
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Searched for a bit to find an interior this clean
Wheels done (on throw away tires)
Started to pull off the side molding. I've done this a few times and I know it's better to stop before your fingers blister! So a bit of progress on that.

Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Too bad I wasn't on this forum 4 years ago... My buddy sold that explorers twin for 250$ cause that's all the local salvage yard was going to give him for it. It would have been nice for a parts donor for you at that price.

Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
These little things are almost swaying me as well. As you said - cheap, capable & reliable. Just another build to tempt me to do one
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Couple little things
Warn hubs on
Clear corners, I should have the new bumper tomorrow

Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Looking better already. I'm excited to see progress on this thing. I really liked that one they took a picture of on steve g's thread out at pismo. I'm hoping you do something similar.
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
So the front end is almost completely torn down. Pic is a day old, both coil buckets & radius arms are off now. Couple more things and some clean up & I'm off and running. Been splitting time between working & being a Dad!
Also finally gave in & bought myself a brand new set of 32x11.50 Falken Wildpeaks. They will be mounted up tomorrow.

Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Ha! If you're running that on your Explorer, I just might have to bust out the O.G. Inland Prerunners stickers I've had for years.Travisfab wrote:This sticker was all the rage, back in my high school days (90's) Stoked I found one!
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Heck yeah it's going on the Explorer!
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Stoked on these Falkens. Gotta get this bitch out of my garage! Just lacking time is all.
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Nice combo !! I just swooped up the wide peaks for the my bronco. Cool tread pattern but aggressive [THUMBS UP SIGN]
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Rolled her out of the garage tonight. Just need to tie up a few loose ends here and there & it's pretty much done.
