OG 94 Explorer Build
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
I had those wheels like those on the bronco at one point, sold them though. I am actually rolling around on the Bronco wheels and tires right now until it gets aligned
Little tough to see, but I re-did the steering with 7/8 heims. It's double nutted for now until I drill out the bolt for a cotter pin.

How do you get the rivets the stay back in there after you press them out for paint/polish?Travisfab wrote:New shoes
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
They are not really rivets, more like a press in deal. i just tapped them back in with a hammer and a piece of wood.
Re: OG 94 Explorer Build
Pumped on the new tires. It's been way too long since this thing has been on normal street tires.

Don't think I've posted a pic showing the stock bumper. Can't wait to get rid of these bedsides though!

Going to a bigger flare on the bedsides? Or just from a different maker for a better fit or something like that??

The Fiberwerx ones that are on it now, are a bad copy of McNeil's. They won't even clear my tires and I have the most bread & butter fullsize 8.8. I have the McNeil bedsides, and I've mocked them up. They don't peak in the center and they are a about 2" wider. Too many things on the list right now, but they have to go on soon before I destroy these.

Where are you at in this picture? Looks like a cool drive to do with the family.Travisfab wrote:Don't think I've posted a pic showing the stock bumper. Can't wait to get rid of these bedsides though!

Made a junkyard run for some small parts to clean this thing up. New to me rear hatch gasket, driver door gasket, under hood insulation piece, header panel trim piece, and topped it off with a stock valance for under the front bumper. Loving the stock/built look.

good to know. I'm still going back and forth. You are not helping!Travisfab wrote:The Fiberwerx ones that are on it now, are a bad copy of McNeil's. Nice. I just traded for a pair at the swap meet. Certainly not my first choice, but the price was right and I might be able to make them work.

Progress has been dismal over the last month. I was focusing on getting my Real Estate license, & the S spring for my limited slip shattered and took out my rear end. She's been collecting a lot of dust at my buddies shop, and my kid is asking about it daily! Tomorrow, new motive 4.88's are going in, Timken bearing seat, and Maxima synthetic. Going to pre run the 1000 in a month, so it's crunch time.
Here's about how she sits, you should be able to spot at least 3 more project with this picture - re-route exhaust, new spring plates, cut down U bolts
I also picked up a new DD/tow rig, so it's getting really close to cage time in the Explorer

Couple things in the works
- New bedsides are going on tonight
- Ordered a drop center hood from McNeil
- Picked up these bad ass Currie spring plates

Loving these new bedsides. No peak in the center, and wide enough to cover my tires.
