I would absolutely love a 3.7 in this thing!!!

Had the pleasure of doing coil packs and spark plugs on a 5.4 this weekend, so not much progress. I'm starting to cycle it so hopefully I'll have it back on it's own weight by the weekend.

The funny thing is, the Explorer is better for taller people as you can fit it and still close the hatch. In the Bronco, you'll have to leave the tailgate down unless you pull the rear seat. Even then it might be tight.

Regardless, I did the tailgate down thing plenty of times....

Right now the bed cage is a little on the low side, so I'd only be able to sleep on my back in it, unfortunately. Better than nothing though

After I put a shock hoop in my old Explorer, I considers building a folding deck that would extend from the cargo area to the back seat and using camping mats. It would have been a little tight but better than laying between the shock hoops. Plus, it would create more storage.

Before I read Steve's post I was thinking that the bedcage looks like a good start to a platform for sleeping. That sounds like a cool idea

I'm thinking about building a similar deck for my current explorer. I'm thinking with a slide out for the fridge, it'll make for all kinds of useful storage.

Just keep heights in mind. The bottom of my tubes are only about 13" off the floor. It would have to be a pretty small fridge, or you would have to have the bed cage higher. The more I look at this thing and plan the future cage, the more I like the idea of a tent!

I already have a fridge back there. It's a big one... just a counsel inches lower than the top of the back seats.

Have you checked clearance with the tires on? I was BARELY able to fit smooth bodies outside the frame with my Bronco 8.8 and even smaller tires.

Rounding the corner on this thing. Lots of little detail work, cycling, locating pivots, moving perches, etc. Should be back on it's feet this weekend.

I had a small No Fearvon a CJ7 of mine-- wow in retrospect that was so gay! Not that there's anything wrong with that (insert Seinfeld ref!)

You went from family truckster to full race-- looks cool!
