yup. There's a build on DR that I can't seem to find right now. Cool stuff for sure.philofab wrote:Thats the Suburban.ESHALLBETTER wrote:There appears to be something large, 4 door, and mezzenined (is that a word?) in the back ground.... Re: Black Lightning
The truck in the background is a 70's 3door suburban I have been working on at Richer Racing. The gist of the suburban is 6 seats. equal length beams, 4link with mezzanine arms, 4.0 king kongs on every corner, everything on this truck is pretty extreme can't wait to see it cruising around with 6 people in it.

Thanks man! Just read your whole build thread your truck is rad! I remember building your beams, what a pain in the ass! took about two weeks if I remember right.. I might have some old pics of them if you want them
Re: Black Lightning
Very nice build. I really like how you did the A pillar/dash bar. Really simplifies things. Think I will use this for when I do my cage. Keep the pictures coming.
Re: Black Lightning
Thanks doing the dash that way makes it alot easier to drop down when everything fits tight and you have tubes stubbed out the back, just be sure to cap the open ends with whatever thickness tubing you are using

it is a blitkrieg housing 3.5 tubes full 4130 tig welded, really nice part!
Ill get some some pics of the white bronco or maybe have the owner start a thread, its a awesome truck, i have been working on it for the past couple months. Has everything you could want minus links.
Re: Black Lightning
Here are some more pics, I drew up the back half the other day, real excited to get going on it. front has 13" of up travel, will probably bump it lower for ground clearance reasons. The rear has 14" of uptravel at ride height, the truck sits 4-5" taller than stock with 37" tires

Re: Black Lightning
That one long continuous bead I think on the side of the frame is absolutely beautiful. Do you worry about serious warping with a weld that long and nonstop. If it's not continuous the transitions are literally perfect.
Re: Black Lightning
Thanks, no worries about warping, there is enough structure to keep things from moving. And yes, i try to do as little starts and stops as possible.VintageIronFab wrote:That one long continuous bead I think on the side of the frame is absolutely beautiful.
