Are you running a pitman arm / sector support?

It feels so much better by doing these mods. I swapped all the steering parts over with the Mopar 2008.5 and later upgraded parts(huge drag link and reconfigured pitman to drag link connection to get rid of bump steer). Also added the box support with sector shaft adapter with a carrier bearing.

The feedback on rough roads is great and feels very steady even though the sway bar is gone! Street/highway manners are predictable and it still looks sleeperish.

As soon as my rear bypasses arrive(any day now) I will swap my stock leafs out for some Deaver LT beasts with Carli shackles that I have staged up and install the Kings out back. Then it's time to cruise the mall.

Awesome build Bob.... I would love one of these as my second dirt rig... perfect for long haul trips!!! I am digging it. I hope you come out to Leduc in it, would love to check it out.

You are gonna love this truck. The leafs make to most amount t of difference. The first thing you notice is being able to drive the truck flat through the driveway intersections.

I had an 2004 that I had all the carli stuff on, no sway bar and then I did my own engine cage/shock hoop things and 3" bypass shocks all the way around.

Truck was smooth sailing through every whoop and whole that was 2' or less. Once the holes got bigger you would have to slow down.

You could blitz 3' holes if there were only 4 or 5 of them in a row. Anymore you end up skywheeling and damn near destroying the truck. Ask me how I know....

Anyway have fun and don't let it build too much confidence in the truck. I thought mine was a trophy truck.

Hey Bob, you going to the Huckfeast?

Also, did you truss the rear axle at all? I was talking to Bailey (Rigid Light wrapped truck) and he said he destroyed two front housings and one rear before they where all trussed. Any photos of your filter setup installed? Seems like the way to go with the chances of getting dirty fuel in Mexico or even here in the states.

Philo - there's some pretty goo write-ups on a DIY filter/pump setup for big fuel on cumminsforum.com I can find the link if you want. Seems like a good way to go. Want to do one for mine eventually, but need to get a bunch of other stuff 1st.

Philo, I didn't truss the 11.5.... We will see how it and the upper shock mount holds up.

I haven't installed my filter system yet( need to fab a bracket for the filter heads mounted off seat bolts or frame location) but I did swap the element in the factory can for the 5 micron Baldwin PF7977. Got all the stuff from a vendor in AZ -Filters Pro that has amazing shipped prices on Baldwin and Donaldson stuff and great customer service.

So true, the leafs made a big difference and if just going through some big street dips is an indicator to how smooth it will be in the rough I'm very happy....now I need My rear bypasses.
