100 miles into a brand new relationship and we're already needing help. Is this a sign of things to come or are we just getting the rough waters out of the way early?

Another 8 year project? Or? What's the plan with this one? DR Huckfest Champ? Or Big Sur wagon?

Hahahaha! You know, they say the problems only get worse as the relationship progresses. Did you already consummate? Did you get a pre-nup?

What's the old, politically incorrect phrase..."if it has tits, tires or wires, you know you're gonna have trouble with it!?"

We'll see this relationship has lots of potential to go down the crapper very quickly... we'll see.

Ha! No way. This is going to be a user right from the get go. no waiting around to go big, just keeping it simple and reliable (HA!).

So her it s in running condition. We'll see how long it stays that way.

It's got a fresh fuel pump and a new lease on life.... Unfortunately. All I could get Saturday evening was an Airtex which I despise!

Did you get a deal on it or something. You know, you can pick up a zj for pretty cheap. My lady just picked up a 95 zj for $500 and drove it from Reno to OC then back with no problems. I was surprised to see that those V8s put out quite a bit of power and they weigh around 4k lbs.

The story:

I've been wanting another Explorer for a while now. Recently, I decided I wanted a manual trans which is tough to find in Explorers. When I do find them, they are beat to hell. This one is not fantastic but it's good enough. The body is probably a 6 (it appears the front clip has been repaired). Replacing (or repainting) the right front fender, cleaning and waxing will make it a solid 7, maybe better.

Even though this truck is far from perfect, it does have a few things going for it... manual transmission, manual transfer case and manual hubs. In other words, reliable drivetrain, better fuel economy, less heat. Aside from the fuel pump taking a crap on me, the truck runs really well. I've always liked the 4.0L/manual combo. It's no speed demon but it just feels good.

The other thing I liked about this one is the clean interior. I thought it was grey in the pictures and was bummed when it wasn't, but I can live with this blue.
Peep all those levers!

The V8's make good power but I just don't need it. I already have a V8 pig I don't drive. The goal with this is to replace it with something I'm willing to drive on a regular basis. The Major problem with any Jeep, though, is the fact that it ain't got not TTB! I've become so accustomed to the TTB/TIB that nothing else will do!

I guess you've never heard. The best way to fix a bad relationship is to either get married or have a baby!

That truck looks so good! I really like that build. I need to catch up on the thread.

I'm going with 31" tires. 33's would defeat the goal of good fuel economy. But, I am considering having a set of 33x10.50's for play time.
