Re: '01 Edge
I want to raise it an inch or two because the transmission oil pan is just below the frame.

Re: '01 Edge
Final engine placement is a little higher than it was before. 13" back and 1" down from stock
Started on motor mounts.
2 points for anyone who can identify the race car that's next to it!

It's the can-am car led zeppelin sponsored for a year or two in the early 70s.

I was wondering, I was thinking possibly an old Le Mans car or something.

Re: '01 Edge
Do you mean a plate between the engine and tranny? No. Do you think it's necessary?Rmc wrote:Nice! Are you guys going to run a midboard plate also?

Re: '01 Edge
Not necissary but not a bad idea either, main reason I say that is there's nothing supporting the front of the trans beside the engine, if the engine is removed without the trans the trans must be supported up front. It makes constant assembly disassembly easier plus adds more rigidity. Engine is also supported better than just the 2 motor mounts, I guess it really depends on how hard you plan on beating that thing up. More work though.. Was just curious.

Re: '01 Edge
Does that style trans have 2 crossmembers? One front one rear? If so no need for motor plate.

Re: '01 Edge
Doesn't look like 2 trans mounts & here's a couple pics of the one I did for the ranger
