'01 Edge
My dad wanted to get back into racing, so we got an '01 Ranger Edge as a project. We'll keep it as a pre-runner for a year or two before we actually go racing.
We're using a camburg l/t race kit for the front. We got a killer deal on it and it turns out that it was the first one that they ever made. The back will be 4-linked with a kit from a guy here in Oregon. We'll be using a Solo cage. We're switching out the 5r55e for a 5r55s, which means we have to yank the entire wiring harness and use one out of a 2002 to 2004 explorer that had that transmission. We have a setup to replace the steering rack with a swing set system since they have a tendency to break often from abuse.
Starting point:
Began making progress fairly quickly:
Shocks. 10" in front and 14" in rear
Wasn't looking for this at the time but found one for an awesome deal
Cab off:
Started working on engine placement. Ended up with 13" of setback and 3" of drop
Roll cage:
These link mounts cap the frame and start the back half
From when the rear end showed up. So wide they needed an extra box! 35 spline chromoly axles:
Getting the frame caps put on:
Put the cab back on the frame and started on the cage today:

Haha. It was picked up as an insurance loss from vandalism. Paid even less when we told the junkyard to keep the bed and fenders!robertcrav wrote:and underhood? Hit a paint truck?hobbyturnedobsession wrote:What exploded in the cab?? Thats goin to be a wicked truck.

I should clarify that the frame caps/links mounts weren't made by me. They're made by the guy who is making the 4 link.

2.5x10 4 tube bypasses for the front
Talked to the guy making the 4 link this weekend and they should be done this week. We went with chromoly, which caused the delay.
