I think the tire thing could look cool or crappy. The unfortunate thing is you won't know until you try. Maybe lay the thing on there to see how big the hole would have to be. My guess is you'd have to cut all the way across the hood (cutting it in 2) to get the tire to sit somewhere where it is at least remotely accessible.

Through the hood = Not Awesome, and hard to recover from....

Ya I figure it would be hard to access any place but over the engine. I think I'm gonna see about under the hood before I go on the roof, these things are tin cans anyway it wouldn't take much to slip drop the tire n leave a nice fat dent in the roof.

Are you running the BAJA TAs on all 4 corners. If you run the skinny 700x15(i think thats the size) in front you could run that as a spare and would be alot easier to fit. Thats what we are doing on my buddies bug.

I agree with you, but agian not my car. The dude got a smoking deal on the wheels and tires from some class 5 team, I don't think he's going to romp the car that hard for a while due to him changing carriers and now he makes little money. It will get to the desert sometime but his plan is run the tires bald then swap to all terreign's. he also has a 1641 in it, his goal is a 1914 but with the current circumstances well see what he decides. I will definitely pass along the consensus opinion to him though.

Bumper inserts....Ill add the center bar after I re-do the steering box location. When the guy gets me the front shocks and I set up the steering and rack placement ill add a verticle bar behind the center skid plate I'm gonna make. So check this out... I was mid weld with my tig and a friggin bug flew in my ear. Now when I say in my ear I mean inside my ear hole! I freaked out! So tig torch in one hand red hot welding rod in the other, I ripped off my hood, smashed my shoulder into my ear. Shook my head and went to hit my ear with the back of my wrist. Right then it happened... a nice little brand complete with blackened flesh on my cheek. Have I mentioned I hate working outside.... Anyway missed my eye but got a nice little skid mark and a good curse word session later here's the dang inserts. Enjoy the pics, ill enjoy the people thinking I'm tony Montana while healing. Serves me right. Sprayed for spiders and the bugs came out go figure. Figured at least u guys could get a chuckle out of the senerio.

Update: found an issue with the front arms, they cycled at 10.5 inches. Well that was an issue considering I sold the guy a set of 10x2.0's and I told him to sell em for 2.5's. he ended up with piggy 2.0x12's. so I had to do a bit of whiddlin' on the lower arms. Long story short just about to anneal the arms.

I moved the lower shock mount out a few inches and double sheared the mount as you can see. Originally it cycled at 10 at the mount now 11.75 and nearly 16.5 at the wheel.
