I finally got this thing in the dirt this weekend for the MORE race. Great time, great crew...thumbs up all around. I took it easy on my rig since it was the first time out, and she handled great in the stuff I did throw at her. No casualties except a thorn in the front passenger tire sidewall, and a whole lotta fun.

Here's a couple pics that I took:

I bit the bullet this weekend and pulled the fenders off the truck to clean up the rear edges, and get them to line up a little better. Pretty happy with how it turned out. I added a mount at the rear edge to stiffen that area up a little bit also.

I decided to flip the LED bar back around as well. Gonna put some 6" amber LED's inside the bumper later on down the road.

Slapped some LED projector bulbs in for the reverse lights. I guess you could say they're kinda bright...

Truck is going under the knife again...should be done in a few weeks. Coilover buckets, 9100 ACV coilovers, Bilstein air bumps, bypass mounts (just in case...), heim radius arms, Autofab beam pivot brackets, brake lines down the radius arms, Autofab glass hood. Pumped!!!

I was cleaning out a storage closet at the house and found these pics of my first rig...circa 1998/1999. My truck must have had 36" of travel and 600HP with all those stickers!

Check out that suspension! Bilsteins! Limit straps! Coil donuts! Legit.

Got a picture update on the front end progress. Really happy with how it's turning out! Without straps it was at about 20" up front, but will strap it closer to 18 because of the stock steering.

Just picked the truck up yesterday afternoon and still can't wipe the smile off my face. The quality of the work that was done is absolutely awesome. So happy with how everything turned out.

Here's a couple shots of the whole truck. I also slapped on a brand new grille that my pops gave me for Christmas. That definitely cleaned up the front end even more...really happy with how nice it looks, but will be scared to go running through the bushes with the truck now...

Full droop shot. Single swing steering is definitely high on my list.

Washer fluid and coolant overflow reservoir relocated. I wish I had a more detailed picture of this trick little bracket.

Just got this thing in the mail today...love that it fits right where the push button 4x controls normally go. I'm gonna use black hardware for the final install, but you get the idea.

So the one thing that has always sorta bugged me about this truck was the body damage to the bed behind the rear wheel. Here's a pic:

Image

I lucked into a white F-150 that was being parted out that had a bed in nearly perfect shape, and already had a Line-X liner and was the right color. Sold my old bed, swapped on the new bed, and presto change-o...no more body damage. Stoked!

Finally settled on a wheel/tire combo...love how this turned out. The 325/70r17 Nittos are a HEALTHY 35". They definitely shop in the husky section...

Made a few mods to the cockpit as well. Finally got my race radio installed (Thanks Tony!) and slapped a Momo steering wheel on also (Thanks for the adapter Scott!). Now if I could just get the motivation to wire up the trans temp gauge and water temp gauge on the A pillar.

Still trying to get the horn button working...as impossible as it seems, I think I got a bum button. Kudos to Momo customer service for sending one right out. Gonna have to play around with resistors to see if I can get the airbag module to stop making angry beeping noises at me every time I start the truck. The install wasn't too bad, although did involve a bit of head scratching on how to get the Momo adapter to play nice with the clockspring, which had to stay if I wanted to retain the horn wiring.

Oh boy, here we go...

Image

This won't be going on the truck for a little while, but when a deal presents itself, you gotta pounce. I suspect I'll end up having to get new axle shafts so that the offset will be compatible with my explorer rear discs, but it's got some sort of a locker...maybe someone can help me identify? Pretty sure it's Detroit, but could be Yukon:

Image

Gears are 4.88, housing is from an econoline, so about 2.5" wider than stock width. 31 spline. I spent the better part of this morning cutting/grinding the old link tabs off and got it pretty clean. Still a bit more grinding to do, but I decided to take pity on my neighbors. Still some other parts to grab before the install...needs spring perches, shock tabs, and a drain plug/fill cap.

Small update. Swapped out the 350mm Momo wheel for a 380mm Sparco wheel. A lot happier with the larger diameter, as well as better gauge visibility.
