I mentioned it to him last time I saw him... I mentioned having him make the parts I've designed for Broncos/Fords. He didn't seem interested.

Oh - ok. I always thought he seemed pretty open to that stuff.

Shouldn't be too hard to raise the things up a bit if you really need/want to though.

Found this photo. I really like the stance of this truck. Hopefully my truck will sit about the same. I'll probably go with a Autofab drop hood though.

It's sitting on the bumps in that pic - although I too love the pic & that ride height IF it would work.

Autofab hood is a must. The gained visibility helps & the weight loss is awesome!

For a street truck I won't need much bump, maybe 3"-4". I plan on tubbing the rear and possibly a frame notch.

it'll just be a street truck?

Still - at the ride height shown above you think they have 3-4" of up travel left in the front??? Frame notch may very well be needed in the front.

Yep. Just a pretty street truck.

Not sure I'd want to notch the frame. I think I would just build a-arms instead.

I've decided I want to find a steel 67 grill and headlight doors. I figure I can find one of those in better condition than an Aluminum one and then have it powder coated.

It's a shame the grills are not made aftermarket.

Be forewarned - the grill shells they make for the 73-79 are paper thin & many people complain about them. You're better off finding a semi decent stock one & putting a little work into it.

*edit* - nevermind. Just realized they only have the 70 & 71-72 grills.

Just collecting parts for it. Oddly enough UHaul has a bunch of parts for these and 73-79. I guess they overbought back in the day.

I knew they had a ton of the trucks but didn't know they stockpiled parts & sell them off. Did you just hit your local U-haul dealer or what?

Painting is stupid. Actually, it's not so much the painting. It's the prep that blows!

And, yes, Philo is versatile!

Oh contraire... the prep does suck, but so does the painting... I just can't seem to paint anything without a drip somewhere! Paint and I just plain don't get along!

I am also not much of a painter. But then again I'm also too cheap to pay someone to do it RIGHT so I attempt every now & again.
