It has nothing right now... So probably a GM 5.3 and 4L60 or 4L80. Turbo 400 if that fails.

I won't get too attached to this build either. If it ends up like many other Philofab projects......it'll be gone soon. hahaha

HAHAHA!!!

Not hating.....just tired of being disappointed by seeing projects start and then leave (prematurely).

If it leaves I call dibs on that bumper. I'll even replace it with something a little more fitting so you can still sell it complete!

That bumper would look great in my scrap bin.

The truck came with extra bumpers in the bed, I haven't had a chance to pull them out and check condition and style. I doubt I'll keep the rear bumper that's on it.

The only one that left is the Ranger. Everything else is still here.

I was just joking about when you sold this thing soon.

As for my bumper - I feel too bad scrapping it though. I've had it on CL for $30 and had no bites.

I don't feel bad. I may scrap the extra parts.

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE it, just like I like pretty much everything else he owns! It's just that he's like me (or I'm like him?) and never finishes anything before starting something new & fun...

With the exception of the Rambler and this truck, everything runs and drives. This truck will run soon too. I found a complete 5.3/4L60 in Vegas that I'm going to look at on Saturday. A swap like that should only take 2-4 days since I have to build a driveline, trans x-member, motor mounts, plumb a return line, and a little bit of wiring.

NICE! That's similar to what I want to do to mine. Now if I only had free time to go to the shop & actually work on stuff...

Looks like I'll be running a Gen III Vortec at this point. Either a 5.3 or 4.8 with a Turbo 400 behind it. I found the crank spacer I need at Herron Performance. The Turbo 400 is one a friend had laying around built for an RV. Should be about right after I install a reverse manual valve body and Art Carr/Winters gate shifter.

http://www.herronperformance.com/store/ ... ductId=239
http://www.kartek.com/Product/Shifters/Winters.html

I measured the rear frame rails for a modern fuel tank and they are a bit narrower than newer trucks (29" vs 32"). I may still try and squeeze a 90s Ford Bronco tank in there. 33 gallons of capacity would be nice. If not I'll build a tank that fits the dimensions of the rear frame or have a tank builder in Havasu do it.

My goal is to get it running and then start fixing/cleaning/modifying things. I'll probably do a bit to the motor once it runs and bugs are worked out.
