Went and pulled the engine and trans on the weekend to get the new engine and auto inplace. Come to find that I don't have the slip yoke for the trans.
Complete utter waste of time. Put the old engine and trans back in and got it back up and running.
Going to clean up a few things and get the rest of the things finished and concentrate on the Bronco.

1992 Ranger "SuperVillan"
As things go I can't make up my mind what to do with this thing. I'm just going to finish it. I lost track of time and the bronco fell to the wayside.
Going to finish painting it this week. Get a few small things finished on the body and leave it. It will get a heart transplant. Going to put the original 4.0 back into it with the current 5 speed. But it will be a test mule for the turbo setup.
Going to get it tuned and running good. So that I can have all the bugs worked out for when I drop it into the bronco. Or I'll just build another system for it. Just need another intercooler and blowoff valve.
I've got some hollidays that will be taken so between camping and wrenching. I should get this done in short time

I usually do not like the look of lowered trucks but this ones looks badass.

Haven't been on here in a while. Have some huge updates.
After driving it all winter I was just going to leave it alone but decided I needed to finish my ideas off. I've switched so many different directions on this that I needed to stick to a plan and finish things off. Talking about it doesn't get things done.
The lifter clatter from the 2.9L was just getting too much to bare. I did get new lifters and pushrods for it and was planning to tear into it and put the Turbo on it. But looking at things I would have had to modify a bunch of pipes and thought it was just going to be a hassle. Instead I wanted more displacement. Putting the original 4.0L back into the truck and turbo that.
Game on.
2.9L out
4.0L and turbo in.
There were a few changes I made to fix issues with the setup that I previously had in the Bronco.
Mounted up a Vortech 12:1 FMU
Got it all buttoned up and running
Did some destructive testing at 5 PSI
With hooking up the wideband oxygen sensor the AFR's were reading rich and was getting a stumble and would fall flat on it's face at 4000 RPM. with an AFR of 9.5 it was running WAY rich. Switched out the FMU diaphram and swapped parts for a 10:1 kit in the FMU. Dropped AFR's down to 10.5 and could now hit redline. Not the 11.0 AFR's that is optimum but it is running great at 5 PSI. Decided it was time to up the boost some, but wanted to get the intercooler mounted.
Had to make new hot and cold side pipes. Found that the intercooler was blatantly obvious.
But finished off the tires at 7 PSI.
For giggles I put is a set of blue dots I had.

I had a spare set of 31's that I made into new whitewalls. There were chunks of rubber missing from the old ones. oops.
When I put the turbo motor in I planned to have 4 guages on the top of the dash so I could monitor the vitals.
Oil Pressure, Boost, AFR's, and Coolant temp.
I mounted them on an aluminum plate and started to make the fiberglass hood for them. I had carved out a foam buck that was the shape and size I wanted.
Stated to glass it up.
Trimmed to fit.
Did some touch ups on paint and decided to try again with the center caps. Turned out better this time.
New under hood shot with new intake pipes, and did some blacking out
The guage hood wasn't how I wanted it. With the lights on I was getting the glare on the inside of the window at night. So I extended the hood and made a brow for it.
Painted it up with some spray bedliner.
Mounted and it looks MUCH better.

Painted the intercooler flat black so it's not obvious any more.

Had a feeling I had a boost leak somewhere. As sometimes I would hit 7 PSI but othertimes I would only get 5. Had a feeling that my blowoff was opening too soon and that the boost pressure was opening the valve overcoming the spring pressure. I would get a hiss like it was blowing off before it would go into boost.
Cranked the adjuster all the way in for max spring pressure.
Had to turn the boost down as it was getting past 7 PSI. Have it set at 5 PSI now and it's very consistant, and the blowoff is giving the flutter sound when I let off the gas. Seems like it's working good now. So I had to celebrate.
