Manx Buggy 500h.p. LS3
I dont know what im doing and it seems to work pretty good.
Although my pops is an engineer, and Ive been taught by some excelent builders in my day.
Below,
Designed and built by myself. Hand drafted/hand built, solo. about 8 months start to finish. It has "pro-am" calipers... fancy...

I'm not usually a buggy dork but that thing looks fun! And the best part is it's a small package 4 seater & appears to be street legal!

That car is rad. What's the width? I've always wanted to build a mini-truggy with similar dimensions. Similar to your car except nothing like it and nowhere near as nice!

Re: Manx Buggy 500h.p. LS3
Thanks for the compliments guys.
All I can say is that I learned from one of the best living fabricators/engineers on the face of the planet. He makes me LOOK BAD!
Outside of beadlock ring (o.b.r.) to o.b.r. 84.5"
Harley was the perfect driver for it. I initially shook it down and put about 60 barstow miles on it. Above 65 or 70 mph I start getting nervous. Harley took the car and literally drove it as fast as it would go. We ran it out of gear and rpm many, many times. car works, no issuses aside from breaking a tab holding the intake tube. (was chassis mounted, fixed by attaching only to motor.)
Thanks again guys, point out anything in the vid or car that would make it better for the next one.

Sounds cool, I honestly didnt expect such a short wheelbase to work as well as it does. I say go for it, make it small and light!SteveG wrote:That car is rad. What's the width? Re: Manx Buggy 500h.p. LS3
Maybe it's just me but does the spring rate seem a little stiff to anyone else? Based solely on what I saw in the video it seemed like it should have had another couple inches of bump travel. It kinda skipped across the top of everything like the spring rate is too high or the compression is too stiff. If was set up that way intentionally, can you explain why? I don't know jack squat about this kind of stuff, just trying to learn about something that seems different than what I think I know. Kudos on the amazing weld quality. If it wasn't for the color change in the haz I couldn't have been able to figure out where you started and stopped.

Re: Manx Buggy 500h.p. LS3
Softer springs would raise the shock temp quite a bit.
It's a very light car and that is how they look at speed. It's not heavy enough to fall in the holes.
