Monday:
It is COLD outside, around 4 deg C, but I got the cowl on and the RH fender installed and aligned. I also fitted the hood and after setting the gap at the cowl, it aligned up with the rest PERFECTLY! Someone is smiling down at me:

I'll start on wiring next, so I can get all the electrics working fully. Cheers.

Time for an update:
Sunday June 26:
It is COLD today, about 3C outside. The weather the last 2 weeks or so has been lousy, with rain virtually every day and the temperature rarely into double digits. That has stalled cleaning the tub underside and painting it so I can install it on the truck. Also, the step-daughter is back for 2 1/2 weeks on uni hols, so that doesnt allow me to start early or work late. so, before it came back, I took the Queen's Birthday weekend off and went up to NSW to do some goat hunting and assist in a 'roo cull. On the way, I picked up some EFI parts I found on Ebay off a '88 F150, along with some other accessory pieces he had:
P1010462.JPG
P1010462.JPG (86.36 KiB) Viewed 844 times
Among the extras was the water pump and crank pulleys, a Sag pump bracket (the crown jewel of the lot!), the complete manifold and engine wiring harness, air intake hoses, alternator, air pump and mounting and a few loose nuts and bolts. The fuel rail is damaged (bugger it, it was the main part I needed) and there are a few bolts I need that are missing, but it was a good haul and all of it was working fine when removed (engine swap to 351C). I had a local Falcon V8 engine harness, an incomplete cut up '85 Bronco body harness, a semi complete '95 Falcon harness (buit its a hybrid EECIV/EECV one built locally for our cars) and a spare V8 engine loom:
'88 truck engine harness.

I'm gonna unwrap these and filter all the wire colours out into their respective areas and sensors, then start to make a hybrid truck/car engine harness to fit. Then I will find another EECIV plug and use both the '85's plug and wiring to combine with the local EEC plug and harness to give me a EFI mass air sequential injection full harness that is plug and play to my truck's existing wiring. Seeing RJM injection tech disappeared from the scene a few years ago, my source for plugs and harness parts vanished accordingly, so I will salvage what I can from the mirad of harness parts in the big box I have. Lucky for me, someone archived his info website (which I have saved all the pages from) and I have all the scematic pictures to use to make all the correct required connections. Using the A9L ECU I have, this should work just fine. I'll also build a new relay block to power this all once I sort out what goes where. The TB also has propane rings on it, so I might be able to adapt the old propane set-up fron the I6 to get me going, then upgrade as needed. My side markers and grille trims arrived safely, so the next few day will be spent slowly doing the small jobs I can do when time and weather allow. I'll also need some bits and pieces from a 87 or later 5.0L truck engine if anyone has one that is junk. I'll throw up a list later here and in wanted if anyone can help.
Cheers.

No, they don't. The frame has been drilled for 2 bolts and a crush plate welded inside and a tube has been inserted into the frame for the 3rd bolt.

http://www.gofastbroncos.com/forum/view ... &start=380

It shows halfway down the page how the box is mounted to the frame, this is a commen break-out area to fail on these. I should know, I've repaired 4 of them, one so bad the box was literally hanging out of the frame horn.

Saturday July 2:

Went to Melb today to a gun show, picked up some once fired PPU 303Brit brass and them went over the other side of town to pick up a V8 Falcon harness for the truck. This will be the foundation of the EFI harness for the 5.0L HO. Pics and more tomorrow.

Rod, what firearms can you own down under? I'm afraid California is trying to go your route....

Also, I'm really happy to see you still working on this.

Hey, Becks, howzitgoin'?
General purpose ownership is restricted to slide/lever/bolt action .22s, centrefires and single/double barrel and lever shotguns, ( A & B category). Pump/semi-auto shotguns up to 5 rds and semi auto .22s are C category and require exceptional circumstances to own ( pest control company or primary producer/farmers). Pump/semi auto shotguns over 5 rds and semi auto centrefires are D category and fall into security/pest control company (100% income derived) and are impossible for general public. Forget handguns, while available, requires club membership min 1 year, 22 for first year, then nothing larger than 9mm unless you have a damn good reason (ie: security or western action) and cannot miss a single club shoot or you loose guns AND licence.California is heading the same way, so maybe time to move states, Mate.
I have 3 Lee Enfields in 303 British, another one in build in 303/25, a Rem 700 AAC-SD in 300 Blkout, Savage FVSR 22, Boito Miura U/O 12g 19.1" door greeter and a Stevens 12g single 20".

My laptop shit the hard drive Sunday, and I lost everything, bugger it. The handbrake gave me hers, as she now has 2 iPads to play with. When I get time, I'll update further.

Time for an update, Saturday July 9:
The weather lately has been abysmal, rain, rain and more rain. My chicken coop is so wet, the poor bloody chickens are almost having to learn how to swim. Did I mention it has been raining? Today, after a 4am start to take the step idiot to the airport, and a quick trip into town (Melb) to do some early morning shopping at the asian market, we got back home at around 11am. Today, the weather was sunny, although chilly, so I took full advantage and pulled the tub out of the garage. Using my engine crane to support the front end, I tipped it up onto the end, set up my little pressure cleaner and gave the underside a thorough cleaning. Some degreaser to get the oil throw-off from the leaking pinion seal and it was clean. After a quick lunch, I mixed up some satin black and sprayed it up:

I was forced to cheat on the last little bit, washing out the paint can and adding a little more thinner to just make the coverage. At least this part is now done, I can start prep on the chassis and I need to re-do some of the wiring for the fuel pump(s) and on it goes. I modified the trolley a little to support the tub after painting so the paint won't get all wrecked underneath and it is strapped on to keep it still.
After the tub, I started back on the EFI harness. After mapping all the pins in the ecu plug and writing down their colour codes, I started to strip the wrapping off and remove the un-wanted wiring. I've got it pretty good so far, although there is some minor differences between the Aussie ECU and the A9L. I may have to source an auto ECU yet, in case the manual one won't co-operate with the auto, but most sources say it should be ok (fingers crossed). I have a Mustang auto harness on the way, along with the VSS sensor to make it all work correctly. Once I have all the harness sorted, I will re-pin the ecu plug to the A9L specs, double check all the continuity and then start laying it into the engine bay. I've dummied up the block, heads and truck intake to sort out the engine harness for sequential injection with the truck sensor positioning. Again, I will co-ordinate the two so I don't make any mistakes and burn my truck down once the battery is connected. My wiring workbench:

By 7pm, it was too cold to continue out there, so I packed it in and will continue tomorrow if the weather holds.

Parts list (if anyone can help, I'd be grateful):
87 - 89 full circuit fuel rail for 5.0L
A set of intake manifold bolts including the 2 coil stand bolts.
Valve cover bolt set for steel covers, with 4 at least with the extra thread above the bolthead.
AOD kickdown cable set-up complete from trans lever to throttle lever (truck intake).
Any of the plastic emission piping for the EGR, TAD and TAB solenoids.

If I think of anything else, I will list it. Tell me what it cost, including postage (reasonable postage) and I will gift paypal you ASAP.

I'm keeping the emission controls installed, the EGR will be working but the TAD/TAB solenoids will be there for good lookd and to keep the ecu from throwing codes.
More tomorrow (maybe) :D

I wouldn't recommend that, it will only get you killed and give them the excuse they need. Better to move to a more gun-friendly state and take your taxes with you.

Sunday July 10:

Well, the eff-ing weather put paid to any other outdoor work, so I did some more on the EFI body harness. There are a few pins and wires unique to the local 5.0L ECU and harness, but I think I have them all sussed out. I have to add 6 pins/wires and remove 3 from the Falcon ecu plug, add a few connectors inline and then I can think about fitting it to the engine bay. Before that, though, I will either need to prep the temp engine or throw in a dummy to let me make sure all the plugs and connectors go into their correct places. I already dummied an engine in the garage, so the next few nights will be devoted to fabbing the sequential/MAF engine part of the harness and the I will mate the two and position the HEGOs and MAP sensors and connectors correctly, then it will be all hands to fit the dummy engine, trans and t/case in to finish off the wiring, trans shifter, etc. Going inside to warm up and get ready for the second job.
More later. Cheers.

Sunday 24 July:
Not much of an update, been busy around the house when the shitty weather allows, working on the harness and waiting for a heap of small bits to arrive in the mail. Man, am I getting raped on shipping/postage :( Some idiot wanted US$5 for a VSS pigtail and US$40 to mail it! WTF? Needless to say, I didn't buy it. Over the next week, goodies should start arriving and I can get some more done to start the engine install, trans and t/case, then hit the wiring hard. Other than that, I'll update later in the week.
Cheers.

Is it August already! Shit, time flies! Time to get the fuck off my lazy arse and update. Aug 29:
I've been off work the last two week with a strained lower back, and been in agony most of the time. I think I did it when working on the boss' father's little Proton Jumbuck that he tows behind his motorhome. I had to replace the brake cable for a different one and got myself wedged in under the dash and I think I mangled something on the raised ledge in the doorway getting myself unstuck. Anyway, today is the first day I've managed anything like work for a while. (Meds help with that, too :D )
Oh, before I mangled my back, I got the tub back on:

P1010475.JPG
P1010475.JPG (76.53 KiB) Viewed 535 times
Of course, when I had the tub positioned and partly bolted down, I realised I had forgotten this:
P1010477.JPG
P1010477.JPG (82.07 KiB) Viewed 535 times
Anyway, I found a piece of hose that fitted and after lifting the tub enough, got it on and a small ziptie to clamp it firmly and THEN, got the tub secured. After reviewing the body lines I have used too thick a rubber insulator between the tub and frame (10mm), so I cut some new 6mm ones at work and fitted them, then got all the bolts tightened down. I have to remove the rear cab blocks and skim off a couple of mm and add 3 or 4 to the front to level out and line up the cab before I can tighten it down fully (later this week if the back lets me). The fuel pump door is perfect, by the way.

So today, I started on the rear wiring to the tail lights and trailer plug (which should be here later this week). I'd previously installed a Deutsch plug at the rear, so I stripped off some multi core trailer wire and went at it. All soldered joints at the splices and neatly wrapped in corrugated sheathing:
