Re: Hot Rods
Oh man. I'm having a serious ADD flare-up. I'm trying to concentrate on getting the falcon painted so I can clear out the garage and start on the rat rod. Buuuut... I keep coming across other stuff I want to build. The rat rod is what I really want to be doing right now but I'm getting really tempted to do something like this (plus headlights and hood, of course):
My other thought is ditch the front clip, narrow the cab, shorten the bed, build a frame for it and build it into a rat rod truck with an open engine and solid front axle...

This was the 59 ford f100 that I had. It had a 302 with a mild cam and it had a c4 automatic transmission. Stock rearend. It would haul ass down the freeway. I would pass up all the new cars hahaha. Sold it for 1500

Re: Hot Rods
And this is my 76 ford maverick. I got it from my grandpa when I was 14, he was the orginal owner. It orginalaly had a straight six in it but me and my dad put a 302 v8 in it. It is a stock 302 with a 2 barrel carb. Broader Performace c4 transmisson. Rear end is a 8inch ford rearend with 3.25 gears. I love this car.

Re: Hot Rods
That Maverick is super clean. It looks like a manual brake manual steering car.
Those VWs are too cool. I would love to have that 63 VW truck. I still have a 70 baja, but have owned many bugs over the years. I had a 71 lowered Super that I drove all over the eastern US in the 80s. I put 40,000 miles on that car in a year. They are awesome cars.

Yea its clean on the outside but the inside is not haha. The front and rear seat are covered in blankets so that they do not look that ugly and it has no carpet or headliner (makes it a little hard to talk to people while driving haha) And yea it is a manual brake and manual steering car.
