The paint is an anti-theft system i'm sure :p
I actually really like this style of car. A lot of detail hidden with a stockish body.

Re: the ultimate "rat rod"!
Not a "rat rod" at all, but a full blown hot rod with a "raw" body.
I'm beginning to hate the word "rat rod" & how overused it is today. I try and use any other word to describe a rod if I can.
Rant over.
The car is for sure nice. Lots of attention to detail which makes me thing it either cost somebody a lot or it's a builders personal car.

34 ford 3 window with the chopped top and flat black sectioned body. Red rims with mooneye caps. No hood and slammed. That's my experience pantie dropper.
I'm just here for the views. It helps me feel wanted.

Re: the ultimate "rat rod"!
I love the patina on the paint. It reminds me of my brother's wagon. The chassis is overboard for me but you gotta love the fact that it's under an unassuming body. I like a nice car just as much as the next guy, but these days it's the stuff you can drive every day comfortably, enjoy and park anywhere without worrying that turns me on.

Gotta Love a Busy Coupe..... Here's a pic of my 1950 still in progress and very "raw"(It's waiting until the Bronco suspension is complete), and yes that's how the paint will stay, except maybe a wipe down with a WD40 soaked scotchbrite pad.......

Would sure be a challenge hangning on to that bench seat with the cornering capabilities of that suspension!

Re: the ultimate "rat rod"!
The biggest problem with the term "rat rod" is it drove up the price of "crap" on craigslist! Thus, completly defeating the purpose behind building a rat rod.ChaseTruck754 wrote:Not a "rat rod" at all, but a full blown hot rod with a "raw" body.

Re: the ultimate "rat rod"!
You're right Eric. People slap on a ton of crap on a ride and call it a rat rod. The term is pretty much frowned upon now. Most use "traditional rod" for those rides that are built using pre or post war parts and styling.ESHALLBETTER wrote:The biggest problem with the term "rat rod" is it drove up the price of "crap" on craigslist! Re: the ultimate "rat rod"!
i don't like the term either because it's been abused, kind of like "extreme sports".

Haha you get the idiots who throw lift springs wheel spacers and roll the rear fenders with fiberglass and call it a prerummer.

Philo, yes in the 50-its a TCI MII front end set for bags, also has a Gambino rear 4 bar notch set up as well. I will put it up in the rides at some point and give details and history on this SoCal's car background.....as always there is a story!
