No tuning, just setting the timing. Stock 351 injectors.

Got it fired up today and running relatively smoothly. Should have it all buttoned up by tomorrow.

Yep, I'm not the brains behind this operation. My buddy is the one orchestrating the build and has run this setup in several of his personal vehicles with great results. We also kept some things on the mild side since I still have to deal with smog.

This is my buddies most recent truck that has a similar setup.

Yep, "Crawl Mater" is one sweet rig. Makes my truck look small parked next to it.

Took a 20 mile drive today with the new motor. It's running a little lean and sputters off/dies if left on idle for extended periods, but the power increase is very noticeable. Gonna play with it tomorrow and hopefully get it sorted out. Then all I have left to do is clean up the wiring and vacuum lines and I should be done.

Finally got it running right. The 302 and 351 computers didn't workout, so we ended up using a 460 computer and its running like a champ. I'm not gonna call it FAST , but it pulls hard and is a torque monster.

little fun at the RXR.

Got a new exhaust put in today.

Still having fuel issues. I had the truck vapor lock and stall on me today and I could hear the gas cap suck in air when I open it up. Starting to think some if not all of my tuning issues are related to inconsistent fuel pressure. Will hopefully get it sorted soon, this is starting to become a love hate relationship.

What are you running for fuel pump and regulator? I'm surprised you are running it with out getting a tune.

Stock. The 460 computer actually works well. A tune will happen eventually.

We replaced the fuel filter, pump and some of the none OEM gas lines used to connect the fuel cell to the stock lines. Fuel pressure is up and from what it was before and is now within spec. If the pump didn't fail, these lines would have let go on me soon enough.

Truck did great out at the Hammers minus a bad electrical bug I need to hunt down. Truck will occasionally instantly shut off on a hard hit. This was a pre motor swap issue, that has gotten worse as of late.

Few pics of the truck out at KOH with my buddy Tom and one of his other trucks.

Your tired pump along with the exhaust blowing into the gas tank was probably causing your fuel starving/pressure issues. I had that issue anyway. Like would also happen more at higher altitudes.
