I originally picked this truck up to be a daily, and leave alone while I continued to build my trail truck up.
Long story short, we are parting out the trail truck, and building this truck into a daily capable "camping truck" .

Its a 1996 F150 sc, starting life as an old folks owned 2wd. 4.9 with a 5 speed.

I've started to find some parts, last weekend i picked up most of the 4wd swap parts.

Plan is 4 inches of lift, c&t at the ball joint, longer radius arms, and 2.5 inch shocks.
Rear will be deavers of some sort, with a bed cage and 2.5 shocks.

We obviously don't have wide open desert in Mississippi but we have alot of rough dirt roads and the truck will hopefully be able to make yearly trips out west until we can move back out there.

Looks like fun. Good thoughts on suspension. Stock width will give you a good bit of travel and keep it simple. Thoughts for rear? Shell and sleep in the back or roof top tent? That will depict how you want to have your bed cage.

I love the short bed super cab fords. I would love to build a TTB 4x4 long travel 1975 AutoFab Super Cab short bed.

Good luck with the project 👍
