Intake Air Temp Sensor to Threaded

Post by shockseals.com »

Has anybody swapped to a threaded intake temp sensor from a different year ford when they made custom air cleaner set up?

Im looking at these that are a fit for a 96 and forward 5.8 so I am curious if the ohms are the same and the only difference is thread vs snap in. I coudnt find sensor data for the stock one on my 96 that twists/snaps into place but I would like to go to a threaded one for a project I am working on.

Even better would be on thats 1/8" pipe wiht a deutch connector but without the OEM data I dont want to waste $60 on the AEM one for it to be wrong calibration.

If you have data or have done this...please share part number or data or both.

Why would you not upgrade your mass ? the newer style has the air temp sensor built in. Like a Pro M or a PMAS. I run the PMAS on my combo

Id have to go back to the dyno to do that as the MAF table is already tuned for the motor I built but thats a great idea. Is their an OEM ford one thats plug and play with temp built in? If so thats what I would go to, not aftermarket.

by plug and play I mean fits in the same location, I would then pin the two additional wires into it to make it a 6pin instead of 4 pin and eliminate the other sensor.

The guys at PMAS were very helpful. The newer slot style oem Ford Maf is very friendley and tunable but would need a final tune to work optiumly. Look at a 2007 F150 slot style. Good luck
