Lentech makes some super cool stuff for the AOD.

EDIT: It's been a long time since I've talked to them, but Lentech has several different options depending on what you want to do with the transmission. They were really helpful when I talked to them and gave me lots of info to work with.

Had a long talk with Len (Lectech). One thing is its not possible to do a reverse valve body. Next he has all kinds of upgrades including shift kits. And he said he thinks most vendors are using his kits. For the Mustang drag racers he sells an OD defeat shaft to make it stronger. This means no TQ lockup in 4th gear. Better gearing (lower) is nice by using the later or truck gear 1 & 2. My 72 has an AOD with a shift kit and it shifts hard.

If you want a built AOD Lentech is the best source. He in in Canada and has a drop ship place in the US. Fast turn around. Get on his web site and read about all the options.
