2.5" RaceRunner Smooth Body Bottom Mounted Piggyback Shocks

Post by hobbyturnedobsession »

any one know if these are any good? I found a set that I told the guy I was interested in. I was going to run them on the rear of my bronco with j40 springs. I know idealy I should run tripple bypass, but I dont have that kind of coin. Would these be a good alternative?

Awesome thank you! I found a set with only 450 street miles. Has maybe 2 nicks in em. I'll definately pick them up.

The valving ends up a little different but they will work fine, possibly slightly better than a shock with the resi on top. A bypass in the rear only gains you about 5-10%.

But for the money, as a casual off road truck then 5 - 10% wont show me much for the coin. Thank you Philo.

You dont need bypasses to have them work good. The only issue and it is with any piggyback is making sure that the shock/piggyback will clear everything through its movement. I have bypasses in the rear now but that is only because I came into a deal i couldn't pass up. If the price is good I say go for it. I had non bypass for quite awhile and for most people you wont see much of a difference when compared to a well valved non bypass

Thats what I thought. They only have 450 steet miles, theyre 12" stroke, only a few nicks where they mount up to and he only wants $450 for them. I really cant beat it. I thought they'd be better with the resis on the bottom to give me more room.

Offer him 250.

I sold a set of 3" SAW bypass, 12" stroke for $500 for the set and they were new, never mounted.

450 is a fair price if you can get him down by all means but thats a respectable price if they are mildly used

Not sure why they do that, it should have one at each end.
