New twist on an old front end.

Post by hollandermotorsports »

We have seen the D44 evolve. We have been involved in the fabricated knuckles and big brakes for more than 10 years. We decided to throw a new twist at it. 1.5" vertical spherical bearings, 7075 billet up right, and our proprietary billet 7075 hub with largest snout possible without changing scrub radius or affecting any front end geometry. 2.5" inner bearing and 2.0" outer. Check it out let me know what you think. I don't post much but I do poke around from time to time. This is mock up stage before we pulled big order on beams. Beams will be tig welded these were mig by yours truly so yes I know they are not that pretty it was all for mock up. Knuckle was machined in house in my Haas vf3 3 axis so yes it could improve as well.

I like it. Great work, I think Andrew Cho it doing something similar. I do like the idea of getting rid of the ball joints.

I wonder what maintenance and the life of the unibals would be on an everyday driver? I would consider uniball rubber dirt and water seals to keep them clean. I have run covers on heim joints and the lasted a bit longer without pitting. Just a thought.
