In tank pump for LS/LT swap

Post by XLR8 »

I'm working through my punch list for my L86/8L90 swap and have a question about fuel delivery. I know the stock pump can't deliver what's needed, i'm told i need at least 310 LPH rate and somewhere around 70 PSI at the fuel rail. I've also seen where people plumb in a Bosch 44 pump after the in tank pump but i'm worried about having a second pump to deal with and if the stock intank pump can take the pressure. I'm thinking of just buying a new tank and installing a new in tank pump but not sure what will work.
Does anyone know what others have done?
There's not a lot of info out there for swap using these newer LT direct injection motors but that's what i'm using. I'll try and document the build here for others to learn from my mistakes.
My biggest gotcha so far was learning i needed a new 9" rear end to handle the torque but that's a good opportunity to convert to discs. I'm in Texas so local knowledge is hard to come by.

Thanks for the link. I ended up buying an Aeromotive 340 setup and a new tank. Going to cut a drop in this pump but leave the old pump (disconnected) and just use it for fuel level to my AIM dash.

LT swap is up and running! It's going to be amazing. Splurged on a Camburg 9" rear with 35 splines and TT hubs.
Here's the fuel setup.

Wonder if that fuel pump setup would work with the poly tank as well?

I'm sure it would - those Aeromotive pumps/kits are fairly universal.
