My 1986 Bronco 8.8 was 64 in wide wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface. I replaced it with a Ford 9-in the same width from Currie.

Thanks, I think I was sold a rear end that’s way too narrow

That's a bummer. When I was a teenager I got a Ford 9" thinking they were all the same. In my case, just inexperience at the time. I still have that for 9-in housing sitting up in the rafters of my garage. I have been considering using it to make a ttb 9 in front housing 😎 maybe one day.

What lug pattern is it? There were 8.8's in a few rangers and also in explorers. They would be narrower of course but are 5x4.5 lug pattern.

And yeah I've got one of, if not the narrowest 9"s produced sitting here. They are out of the early bronco. They're only 28 spline axles which is odd for the 9" as most from the "trucks" seemed to be 31 spline. They are still 5x5.5 lug pattern though and perfect width for 30's/40's era cars/hot rods.
