More lugs equals stronger. I was thinking about doing it to mine cause my buddies race truck is Toyota 6 lug

Lots of racers use 6 lugs and some use 5 lugs that are larger diameter.
Less makes tire changes faster.
I do see the centers of the wheels ripped out, but know if it has to do with how many lugs or just crappy wheels??

Crappy wheels.

I remember an old Soad truck that ran 8 lug hubs with lug nuts only on 4 studs. Their thought was more studs distributed the load better and then the 4 nuts kept tire change time down.

Spirkoffs stock full truck did this. I think this guy just wants to keep from changing his Toyota wheels . Lots of decisions get made because you have that one part already then a few years later you wonder what have I done..

Seen it many times & done it myself a time or 2.

Funny seeing people trying to save $10 and use wheels they ave, but spend $100 in machine work or parts to do so.

Hopefully I'm old enough/wise enough now to avoid this in the future!

To me the biggest benefit of this is the ability to use a wide array of chevy brake pads. If you are one of those guys who has or a friend has 25 old chevy 1/2 ton front ends and gives you full reign to the parts then this might be a nice thing.

I cant see how you could use chevy pads. Its still a ford ttb with ford calipers. The number of lugs wouldnt change which pads you could use. Would just chance the disk's which i cant see how a chevy or ford replacemnet would be better then the other. Would honestly make finding parts harder. Imho go to 5/8 studs and call it a day. Least amount of work and you can still pull parts off the shelves.

I've done this using Jeep FSJ outer parts (spindle, hub, caliper mount and caliper and outer axle) on my old race FSJ. It worked just fine. I might even do it to my F100 later on, so I can use the Nissan GQ Patrol rear axle assembly I have hiding in the back of the garage (4:10 LSD disc brakes fabricated housing and 33 spline axles all stock).
