warn premium hubs new install
Well my auto hubs grenaded awhile back and I parked the bronco for awhile until I had some time to work on it. Well my premium hubs came in the mail today and I couldn't help but try to install them. So my problem is I'm unable to get the hub to go all the way into the housing. It goes in about an inch and a half and stops I cleaned out all the metal from the bearing that exploded and I don't see where its getting hung up. HELP!

No its a 91 with 5 lug auto hubs. No need for conversion kit. The large bearing is what imploded and shot metal all through the hub I cleaned it out and I get nothing.

Remove the hub and wipe off all the grease. You will probably want to confirm no splind dammage occurred to the hub or the shaft. Here's an exploded view of factory stuff so there's a few sets of splines that could get dammaged preventing assembly.

Too much grease can also stop if from going in...
or there is a circlip you missed on the axle
or hub.

They are the Warn Premium hubs. It might be that retaining ring. I'm bringing it down to my dads where we have a small shop so I have better lighting and tools to work with. That and I need to remove the whole housing so I can clean out the whole thing.

Re: warn premium hubs new install
just installed some new MM hubs on mine....i had two issues.
1. you need to make sure you line up the inside splines, and the outside.....this had me scratching my head for a minute.
2. my hub assembly(the part attached to the rotors) was out of round...got dented when i was removing the race for new bearings. Had to straighten with a hammer and brass punch.

OK so after 2 hours of flash light fueled work. I got them in now they don't seat far enough in to place the lock ring on the spline. Is there a spacer that needs to be removed

Inner cir-clip (slined shaft side aka the small one) or outer( hub inside diameter aka the big one)? I'd remove the hub and see if the assemble without the axel involved will go deep enough to become flush( basically compare overall assembly length how ever you can)

I found it. I have to tow it to my dads now. The wheel bearing is non existent.
