Re: GETTING STARTED
today the project moved forward by one more small step...
right before i stored her (for 5 years) the back window was giving me problems & needed to be fixed.
if i rolled it down - it wasnt gonna go back up.
a while ago i had an excellent window man in burbank (A-victory auto glass ALBERT)...
problem is, my newer cars dont have window problems so i hadnt seen him in 7 years.
luckily - he was still there in the same shop, doing the same great work.
so, this morning i showed up with no appointment...and he jumped right on it.
sure enough, the window wouldnt respond once it went down. albert spent the next 3 hours troubling shooting & repairing the whole thing, from top to bottom.
(my striker bushings were completely gone & there was no ground to the tailgate, as well as a a fair amount of corrosion on the O.G. tailgate with 220k+ miles)
in the process i discovered 5 wax combs that i had purchased and replaced - thinking i had lost them...over & over again.
i also was able to clean off the 16 year old rear window tint (so old you couldnt tell if you were being followed by a cop or an ice cream truck) and drive home with the back open for the first time since 2006!
i swear she gets perkier & perkier the more i drive her & the more she gets fixed.

...for those less informed...
it is for COMBING SURF WAX...which is better for traction.
kinda like Deavers for surfing!

Re: GETTING STARTED
Its used to apply a wax coating to your surfboard to help with traction (ie: stopping your feet slipping off the board).ChaseTruck754 wrote:Countdown to non surfers asking what the heck a wax comb is in 3...2...1...drj777 wrote:in the process i discovered 5 wax combs that i had purchased and replaced - thinking i had lost them...over & over again.

Re: GETTING STARTED
Fill the cracks/holes in the cab with clear silicone for now so they don't allow water into the cab.

Re: GETTING STARTED
there used to be a little wedge of lead that had been tacked in there...dont know what happened to it.
not to mention, the GIANT opening where the CB antenna (thats right, i said it! ) USED to be.
shes been LOOONG overdue for some TLC.
she sat idly by (no punn intended! ) while i souped up my stang, and then the f150...not to mention the addition & subtraction of several dirtbikes.
and to make matters worse, she was the first...she had seniority. (not counting my toyota PU, but this is a FORD thing)
so...now is HER time. shes up @ bat...and i can NOT refuse any practical improvement for her.
she deserves it. (koo-koo...koo-koo...koo-koo)

ps - who says OCD is a bad thing?!
