Sputter problem

Post by Jasonj105 »

Ok so I finally get to drive my bronco for more than 20 minutes in the two years I have owned it. It is an 89 351w with a C6. When I am driving at about 55 it feels like it tries to load up and will backfire a few times. If I let off the gas it will go back to normal, and if I floor it, it runs like a bat out of hell hitting over 4 grand before shifting. Im thinking I must have a vacuum leak somewhere, or maybe even a problem with the fuel pressure regulator. What do you guys think, any suggestions?

Have you pulled codes yet? My Bronco was doing the same thing and it threw a code 211 PIP circuit failure. Replaced the PIP in the distributor and it runs great now.

New fuel, new tank, both pumps and new filter.
