I always hear people say that the ambulance tie rods are a good upgrade. Does anyone have any more specific information on how to obtain these? What is the specific year make and model range that I should be looking at?
Thanks

eBay via part number can score some serious deals.

I noticed that most of the non moog brands have the same part number as moog. Is it the same manufacturer? Do they all come from the same place?

Here's what we just used. Price is Amazon shipped, but I think you may be able to do a few dollars better at Rock Auto.

Just to throw some more confusion into the mix. Lost of vans use the bigger drag link. The taper is compatible and IIRC they use a rod end with more drop on the passenger knuckle. Haven't put a full assembly on a truck yet so I don't know if they can be adjusted to spec or if they're too wide but from looking at specs online it looks like some collars and rod ends from the vans can be used. IIRC it's all 1"-18
I've got a pair of 80s or 90s Mazda caliper mounts with the 8.8 pattern set up for a really tiny rotor and have no idea what they fit. I found them by truncating the part number (so I got all dust shields/caliper mounts) and visually looking for what I wanted. They weren't what I wanted but they had the 8.8 pattern and were $10 shipped.
This, so much this. Got radius arm brackets for a 2wd Excursion for ~$30ish each as oppose to $40-$50 doing it that way. The savings tend to get better as the parts become older and more obscure.VintageIronFab wrote:eBay via part number can score some serious deals.
