What are you guys doing for your carbed trucks, mine doesn't like the whoops when trying to just cruise threw them, loads up and stalls a lot, lot of throttle is no problem

Carter AFBs and Edlebrocks don't work well offroad. Q-jets, Holleys, and Edelbrock AVS carbs work better.

Most guys with carbs prerunners have Holleys modified by C&S with sucker pumps instead of floats and very tall vent tubes. This is also common for race trucks.

I run a Holley 600 vac sec on my demo derby cars. It's taking some pretty big hits, more than off roading I'd think. I have the floats set low. Last derby the 460 couldn't suck em dry and the hits wouldn't flood it.

Havent run mine yet, but had a Holly carb built by C&J as they as some of the best in the biz for offroad. They set it up with a sucker system using a diaphragm pump so the bowls dont overfill, etc. Their's a -4 return line back to the tank.

Give them a call and they will get you dialed.

I've never used them but have heard many good things about C&J from lots of difference people.

On mine, I converted to EFI and loved it.

Have you looked at the demon brand? The dirt demon in 600 or 650 is what you may want to have a look at. I personally only have Holley experiance. I remember looking at the dirt demons due to having built in crossover tubes. It's been more than 10 years since I went carb shopping though. You will want bowl crossover tubes to help with sloshing issues and lower the float a hair if possible.

I meant C&J in my post, not C&S.

I found it, 1200$ for everything, but Holley is releasing their new sniper efi in March that can support up to 650hp for a grand, that might be a better way to go

For a difference of $200, I'd go with C&J. I imagine their support is much easier than dealing with Holley.

If you are looking to save money piece together a stock EFI or a modified GM TBI system.

Motor is in a ranger, so I couldn't use the f150 intake, and I've priced the performance parts and the Tuning using the the stock factory ford fuel injection and its still over a grand and if any upgrades are made you have to have another tune done, as far as the cost of 200 over with c&j, I think the other benefits of Fi will be worth it

Another fan of C&J. Expensive and worth it. We have never touched our C&J carb in 3000 race miles. Works better than the EFI I had previous.
How expensive? C&J modified and setup Holly 750DP $1200 including custom ramp on the MSD disty. You can buy a stock Holly 750DP for under $600.
C&J is worth every dollar.

I have a C&J as well. They modded a Holley 670 Street Avenger. Its been good but not great. Still needs some fine tuning and the carb its based on lacks some tuning options.
