5.8L Timing Cover Bolt Kit
All,
We need to replace the water pump on one 5.8L and the timing cover on another 5.8L. Both will get a new water pump and new timing cover because they are very prone to corrode.
I always replace the timing cover/water pump bolts when doing this job because they corrode and eventually break. I used to order them from Ford but they're discontinued.
Anyone have experience with one of these kits?

Re: 5.8L Timing Cover Bolt Kit
I've just used the doorman kit for my 5.0 5.8 and 7.5 and haven't had an issue. I have had to remove them before and they didn't have a problem. Jegs should be a much better product.

Did you use the 5.0 kit on the 5.8? Same kit?

Re: 5.8L Timing Cover Bolt Kit
Late Model Restoration has a kit made by ARP that I used on my 1995 F-150 5.8.

Re: 5.8L Timing Cover Bolt Kit
Thanks for the info, guys. I ordered the kit from Jeg’s. It appears to be close to the same as the LMR kit and also made in the USA. I’ll let you know how it fits.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

I ordered a pair of these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aaf-all90018
A coworker (that was a career master mechanic pre-rugged) saw them at SEMA a few years ago and said their aluminum goods looked really good....

I have yet to get a crank seal out without cracking a timing cover.
