Wheels

Besides not looking as cool, do you guys know if these type of wheels are as good/strong as the later ones with the holes in them?

I believe the wheels you’re referring to are the later Alcoa’s, which are a forged wheel. I believe the ones in your picture are a cast aluminum and will not be as strong.

How hard do you plan on running? For most those wheels work work just fine. I ran the American racing version for years and never had an issue.

It's mainly just a trail rig. I was thinking they might be good in the sand, this bronco won't be flying to much

I think you'll be just fine. People run fast wheels all the time. I used to jump my old one with cast wheels never had an issue. The only reason I'm going alcoas now is the look.

I agree with all of the above. While I wouldn't really run cast wheels on a race truck they are fine for 99% of people, and for a trail truck you'll be good.

The alcoas are forged which is part of why I like them. They just look damn good too.
Forged wheels will bend while a cast wheel with crack or shatter. Takes a LOT of force to do this but I've seen it in person & it's not pretty at race speeds.
