Bronco back half of body on a F250.

Post by Wrightracing.net »

I have been toying around either the Idea of buying an F250 and putting the rear body and shell on it. I know the frames are not the same and some custom mounts would be needed. The positive reasons are, I can run a 460 big block and be smog legal, the Full Floater rear axle and heavier duty front end components. I would convert the Dana 50 over to the Dana 44 geometry, but keep the 3/4 ton u-joints out to the hubs with 8 out setup. I have been looking at the Fiberwerx stretched bedsides and this would be a perfect time to stretch the Bronco with a 3 link.

My two main selling points are a smog legal Big Block and it might be a good platform to stretch the Bronco.

What do you guys think?

Sorry I have not been around much, but TapaTalk was not working on my phone and it is to hard to read the website in a web browser on the phone.

I have wanted to stretch My Bronco for a while and now that Fiberwerx and RoadRunner make stretched bedsides it makes it a little easier.

Depending on how you cut it, wheelbase would end up 127-130".

This is basically what a centurion bronco is. Lots of body work ok something like this. The work may not be worth it.

I thought a lot about doing this on a 70's F series supercab. Here's one a guy did. Not a fan of the soft top on the back, but it's the only pic I've ever found of one actually done.

The centurion ends up to be a better deal in my opinion as the 2nd set of doors is definitely a nice feature. The wheel base on those is a bit longer at 138" or so, but it's not a race car so that wouldn't kill me.
