Super charged 351w 2nd gen lightning

Post by Wrightracing.net »

Ok, so I was a little perplexed by the numbers this guy was getting with the setup he described below.
The numbers on hp seems low and the torque seems high, what am I missing. I do like the torque that high
At 2500 rpm, because our Broncos do tend to be a little heavy once we add a full bumper to bumper cage and big tires. Even with a complete set of fiberglass fenders and hood.

1993 ford bronco custom supercharged prerunner. This bronco will beat a 6.2 Raptor in a 0-60 drag race, 6.8 seconds!!!!
I have Dyno report boasting----
507 ft lbs @ 2,500rpms
325 hp @ 4,150rpms
Built 351, ford SVO turbo swirl aluminum heads, .30 over, 8.8:1 compression, torque cam,30# injectors, fuel system,2nd generation lightning Eaton blower, 6lbs of boost instantly. full length custom doug thorly headers and race exhaust, this motor runs awesome with or without blower.
Fresh fully built E4OD with all hardparts.

He is asking $10,500

He is not running that much boost. Doesn't appear to be inter-cooled (but I could be wrong) so running higher pressure would be problematic, and the came is set up for torque with a roots type blower. Probably a decent build.

I saw this and thought it was pretty cool and somewhat easy swap. I'm with Damon the numbers seem a tad off unless items are done we can't see.

I just wanna know how I can get a roots blower on a 351! Those blowers are pretty standard and easy to get - just need the lower manifold ?!?!? Anyone??? I just think the Eaton, Whipple, and Bell blowers on an offroad truck make more sense than the centerfrugual units.

There is a build on FSB by member panabax, might even be that truck that is for sale, where they added the same kind of blower.
Anyways he cut up a stock intake and welded in the correct flange for that eaton blower. I imagine this person did the same thing. Though I thought his was running a MAF setup, which does not look like this one is.

I was at the factory five event in HB last weekend and some 5.0 cobras running a roots blower by kenne belle that adapted to the factory intake. I am sure they are not in production anymore as pushrod stuff is of the way side but never the less saw it can be done.

I'd think there'd be a speed/fab shop that do these fairly easily. I like that the intetcooler is all in one. Why can't those damn Chinese make one lol!!
