Quick latch hood pins

Post by Rmc »

I found these recently and figured I'd share. There some pretty bad ass aerodynamic quick release fasteners. They could be used for many quick release panel applications.

They look interesting. I wonder how durable they are in an off road environment. Also, I wonder if they will get stuck once sand, dirt and rust gets down in there? I had a set of the locking ones, and they rusted shut. I used a hammer to get it to slide and unlock.

They do look cool, maybe on inside panels?

I agree totally. The dude posted a vid on them. What I found interesting about them is the body dosnt care what angle the ball is inserted. So up to whatever angle will clear the sides of the socket it will still latch.
I think interior axcess panels would be a great application. Using them for hoodpins I guess a torture test with sand and mud would be the only way to find out. It looked like they sold them in multiple sizes. That said if someone buys some let us know how they work out.

You just can't beat the AutoFab hood pins for simple and strong.
