So I recently bought a Tuffy Center Console with the extra spot for a cb radio. (Model 017). I also picked up a Cobra LTD BT. I would like to mount it in the spot, however the consoles cutout is a tad bit to small. It says to use a stereo support strap to hold it in. I was just wondering if any of yall have any experience with these things. I think that I might be able to just grind it down and then install the strap? If yall have any experience or pics that would be helpfull.

My son's CJ has a Tuffy but no cb storage area so we just drilled four hours and mounted the bracket right to the front of the Tuffy and works great but he is running a Kenwood 271A race radio not a cb which tend to be bigger. I'll take some pics tonight and post them up so you know what I'm talking about.
