Hmmmmm. Maybe I'll just can it for now. I do really like having something to help clean the windshield when I'm prerunning wet conditions though.
What about radiator overflows? What do you like? Plastic sufficient?

Is your gone, or not working? Check the fuse.

Mine didn't work either when i got it, found the fuse was bad. I replaced it, it now works, i'm proud of myself for fixing something on my own...lol!

Haha! Yeah, it works fine. I'm trying to create space in that corner and don't like the big ol factory reservoir set up. It doesn't like bouncing through the whoops much either.

Re: Washer fluid tanks/pumps
I hate the stupid factory ones. I've used some long street rods ones before but I dislike the fact it's hard to check at a glance. I will be making an aluminum one with two 90 fittings and clear hose on the side for easy checking.yikes wrote:What about radiator overflows? What do you like? Plastic sufficient?

Re: Washer fluid tanks/pumps
I got one from kartek. Just picked it up last night. Kinda pricy but they look and are built really well.
I'm just here for the views. It helps me feel wanted.

I used the same thing for my old ranger... We ended up making a sheetmetal aluminum tank with a shrader valve on it.... worked Great....bajascott wrote:i use to use vw bug washer bottles, they arent that big but you pressureize them with air. they worked ok for a couple washes...

Re: Washer fluid tanks/pumps
I don't get the advantage of a pressurized washer bottle. What's wrong with an electric pump?
I'm a big fan of windshield washers and use the hell out of them. I've considered putting an additional pair of nozzles on my truck. I've also attempted to install arm-mounted nozzles but it didn't work as well as I'd hoped.
Still using the stock reservoir but it sucks... I've considered using a bag type but they're not very big.

Re: Washer fluid tanks/pumps
You know an electric pump and tank can be mounted anywhere.... Not just underhood. Many oe cars have smaller pumps/tanks for the rear window... Maybe look there and mount it to the frame rail or behind the bumper.

Re: Washer fluid tanks/pumps
A lot of cars use two pumps in the front reservoir and run hose to the rear window... so yeah, you can put it pretty much anywhere and plumb accordingly.
I can't stand the late model cars that have a super long neck and the reservoir at the bottom, but that would work well in an off-road application. It would help keep the juice in the tank while in the rough. It would also keep your center of gravity low and maybe save you from a rollover....
Something like this in a gallon size would be cool.

I would like a tank like that for the radiator overflow...but I'm not willing to lay down the $$$ right now.

Re: Washer fluid tanks/pumps
I absolutely hate my stock puke tank. It won't hold the overflow in the whoops even tho I've tried to seal it up. Just ask Victor! He was checking out the BajaF250 in San Felipe this weekend and asked me what was leaking in my left wheel well! So, I'm going to attempt to make one out of 90 thou aluminum. I'm not too concerned with a sight gage, I'll just take the cap off to check the level. Or, maybe put in a clear tube like Philo mentioned. Another project!
But, I am going to keep my w/s washer resevior, so that will be added into the design. I really like the ability to smear those bugs guts across the windshield when driving through the valley!

Re: Washer fluid tanks/pumps
Been wanting to get rid of the stock set up for awhile seems like its always creating a mess. As far as location goes that is undecided yet.
