what does your pitman arm puller look like? i've never had a problem. the 2/3 arm puller style ones that are adjustable suck. i like the one that is 2 fixed arms and a beefy screw in the center. one trick i've learned is to snug the puller as tight as you can get it then whack the pitman arm a few times to break it free.

as far as rivets, sounds like you got most of them. i always had the best luck grinding the heads off, drilling thru with ~1/8" bit, then using a pointed punch tip on an air chisel to punch them out. a little time consuming, but it will get any rivet out no matter how stuck it is.

Rivets are tonight, I'm not worried about them, they can't be worse than
The bolts on top of the beam that hold the coil. Holy s@#t they were tight.

I have to agree with the proper puller and a smart whack with a hammer.

As for rivets, I have always just blown them out with a torch. Other than molten metal fountains lighting your truck on fire, I dont see the downside. Seriously, I usually just blow the rivets head downward and that seems to keep the sparks away from the critical bits.

When I installed my Rancho kit it was pretty straight forward. I called Rancho and told them I was trying to find the correct bolts for the lift because I got it off ebay (actually got it from Tony on here) and it didnt come with them and they were more than willing to send me the correct grade 8 bolts for free! The best way to attack the rivets is cut and x in the head off them with a die grinder and then chisel the heads off. The biggest pain in the arse was drilling the new holes, I was using a shit drill with el cheapo bits and then got my hands on a cobalt uni-bit (was like 40 bucks for one from the Snap-On guy) and my buddies hammer drill and then the frame was like butta'.

As far as bushings I was told the rubber ones will allow more flex than the stiffer poly bushings but now you can get black poly bushings that are less firm but I think the flex you gain would be minimal at all so its really your preference.
Don't know what your running for shocks but measure for them after you put the lift on and cycle the suspension, the off the shelf shocks they throw in the kit are gonna limit your down travel big time, I've heard it reccomended that Bilstein 5100s for a 6 inch kit fit more closely on a 4 inch than a 6 inch kit for that very reason.
