Bolt it up. Axle spline count is the same as is the bolt pattern on the beam. Possible conversion u-joint and drive shaft shortening needed.
So other then the lower coil spring mount the Radius arm and everything else bolts.
Now that is the way to do it...
Must be a catch, any reason not to?

Just to be real clear...
1993 D50TTB beams will bolt in to the D44TTB frame brackets needing only radius arms Coil and shock mounts, and steering linkage.

No. I was referring to the differential, not the housings. Pivots are way different, no radius arm mounts at all on D44HD or D50.

Ok so that would make more sense with what I think I knew about the TTB.

Use the beam brackets off the F250 and weld the D44 radius arms to the beams. Weld on lower coil mounts and your set.........

You have everything you need, get creative........

True, I have been thinking more along the line of:
Plate the D44 Beams and put in the D50 Diff Housing
Cut the D44 beams Knuckle ends off and do the same on the D50 beams
Decide if I want to go any wider and if so how much, then align and weld the 50 ends on the 44 beams.
Presto, hybrid 44/50.

Then if there was money on any of my trees. Ideally replace the U-joints with CV's as I run in 4WD for months on end. The lesser option buy CrMo blank shafts and cut and spline, not as good as a rolled spline but there are limits.
Saddly that will keep for another build as this one is being done on the cheep!

You could attach the D50/D44HD mounts to the Bronco cross member. Looks like it would just take some hole drilling and maybe some spacers.

As far as welding the radius arms directly to the D50/D44HD beams, it will take a little work. The D50/D44HD beams are 4"x4" square at the attachment point and the D44 radius arms are wider. About 5.75 spread I think.

Although you could build one with CVs I don't think it would benefit at all. Biggest vibration comes from the lack of a double cardan joint on the front drive shaft. Dutchman can make axles for about $400 a pair.

Radius arms could be pretty easy. You could save yourself some time and buy someone's bolt-on pivot brackets and build off those... wouldn't be bad at all.

I R Confused... Brackets for the 44 or for the 50?

Bolt-on, aftermarket, for extended radius arm pivot brackets. It would give you an easy starting point for the radius arms.

I would use the stock pivot brackets from the F250 for the axle-housings.

I'll come up with a plan once I can get all the various parts cleaned and organized.
I have also picked up the front half of a Bronco frame and a full extra D44-TTB including all the steering which will make things easier; and allow the development of this and a another derivative design I want to explore.

Edit: Everything was delivered this evening.

Thanks, there are just so many brackets in the TTB...

Ok this being the TTB thread. . .

Why go wider in track width? Advantages? Disadvantages?

If the pluses of going wider justify the cost/work, how much per side must be added to make it worth while, 2"/side, 4? And the Duh where is enough, enough.

I got all these today.
My answer is i can see no real reason to, but Wheel Travel, Stability(?), & the ability to run big bulgy fenders...
 I like the last one

lol
The singel biggest advantage in my mind is stability at speed...hen I went back to an 15X8 rim after the 15X10 I noticed the difference immediately. I think for most a 2" increase is quite adequate but to go 4 is just as costly, if retaining 4 wd I believe a +4 is pretty much max unless you want to start redoing steering linkage.

I know this is likely a zero, but I have to try...
Anyone have CAD files on the beams; both 50 and 44?

I'm going to start drawing likely tonight, but on the off chance I fugue I could ask might save some time.

No one that I know that would part with them...lol

Ya Know... Having thousands of thousands of hours in various CAD seats.
The stuff I do for fun, I'll give away.
I don't expect to find the files, so when I get the chance I'll have to draw them, and then I'll post them on TLT.
But, it will be a while. :(

Contact Ford, they may have stuff that old. I know I can get the newer stuff.

Good point somewhere I should have the files on the 5.0L.

Ford says that they are going to protect their out of production suspension design...
3D Solids will happen soon.
