Has nobody else had length issues (that's what she said) with the Ford wires? I think cyl 4&6 or 6&8 were a bit short. They fit but don't have ANY slack. And some were too long actually. Did I buy the wrong set?

That's what I have found with every set of wires I have had.

Oh well that sucks. Now I wish I would've kept the original ones and matched the lengths and rubbed the cyl numbers off

I'm just use the race inspired T&B ty wrap wire holders- good enough on a TT means it's good enough for me lol!!

Do they clip on to the factory valve cover bolts like the factory holders do?

For wires, I like the MSD Super Conductor stuff as well as Taylor's Spiro-Pro and really any of their products. Taylor is very good stuff.

I've converted all of my old junk to Ford EDIS8 coil pack ignition, which runs much hotter than all other factory ignition systems, so I use NGK or Autolite copper plugs gapped to 0.055" in most cases. These plugs generally wear out with 2 years of use, which is good since they are very cheap and offers me an opportunity to check the ignition system reasonably regularly. One major advantage to the EDIS8 system (aside from the hotter spark and dead nuts accuracy) is the design is waterproof. You can douse the ignition completely in water and it still works well.

I have run Champion Platinum spark plugs for many years on the 302. I am not sure what I will run on the 408 yet.

Ha ok. Yes, there are several threads on the conversion, but I believe I started here a long time ago: http://corner-carvers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19331
