I'd be worried about the weight (even though it is light) - (no pun intended) and then the stress on the super thin sheet metal up there, especially the HAZ after being welded on. Time will tell on this one, but I'd be watching for cracks just to be on it if they do show up.

That being said - what was it welded to the body with? If silicone bronze rod was used then you'd have a better chance against cracks.

Exactly what I was thinking. The old minis with 6" round lights on the bumper were acceptable? I ran two Hella 500's on front of my jetta back in the day. Saved my life a few times I bet. :)

I think that Gray Bronco used to belong to a friend of mine. He sold it to the Zorra team in Mexico.

I am reviving this thread a bit. I might be getting a curved Led 50" bar. I will be putting it on the F350 but I have not decided how to mount it. I am thinking about putting it on the leading edge of the hood. I was thinking of fabricating brackets to the core support. This would get it up away from getting hit on the bumper.

I have considered on the top of the windshield but I hate tunnel vision and the bar will be the only off road light I will be running up front.
Also, I do not want to weld the brackets to the cab and I really don't want to drill holes in the cab. What do you think about the plan?

I was thinking about this the other day. Think it be possible to French in a curved single row into the front of the hood? Would be out do the way and if you have the stock grill hood opening wouldn't be an issue.
