Problems posting pictures

I am trying to post some pictures, and am having no luck. I think I am doing it same as always, but can't remember for sure. Some of my old pics have the little box with x in it. Must not have done them right either. Help please. Thanks. RS

I remember now. Pic file is too big. Too many KiB. What needs to be done?

Can you give me an idea how to do it? I tried to resize original photo file. Can't figure out how to do it.
