I am looking to get my gofast setup started, never owned a ttb vehicle before but I am looking for an entry level setup, right now the truck is sitting on 33" general grabbers and method wheels with some kind of 3" lift (and the worst part an add-a-leaf in the rear) so I really want to get rid of the add a leaf in the rear and replace with deavers and bilstein 5100 for a stock replacement and eventually longer shackles but my question is which deaver leaf springs do you guys prefer I've heard a lot of different ones and should I go 3.0 or 2.5 inch wide? (Keep in mind this is for an f-150) I would like To have some input. So now onto the front I'm looking at solo or desolate motor sports entry kits, c&t beams, radius arms, 5100's and springs etc. just wondering opinions on these two kits also keep in mind I'm trying to stay budget minded (like most) but with a simple yet good front and rear setup.

Dtbbach I have looked at both of those threads and I know what I want I'm really just wondering opinions on the brands I named and what rear leaf springs because I really don't know the difference between all the different deavers I have heard people mention and what will work on mine since it is an f150 not a bronco

Here is my two pesos, I just sold my single cab a few months ago and I was running a 2WD set up with longer radius arms, bent beams, 4" coils with Bilsteins on 35" BFGs. For the rear I had stock rear OEM springs and had Deaver add a leaf to help level the truck and also make it so that I can pack more gear in the back. I added Bilstein shocks to the rear as well. We ran the truck on part of the Baja 500 course in June of last year and considering it was such a basic set up it ran great! I think what really helped was the weight in the back. I packed a spare tire, ice chest, one large pit box, one small pit box and a jack and handle. My suggestion is run it with the gear you will carry and go from there.

Deaver use to make F53s and may still make you a set but those were built for F150s 80-96 and are 2.5" wide. Hope this helps. Good luck with your build. By the way, single cab F1s can really scoot in the desert.

Thanks Chris, that sounds like a good idea for a cheaper alternative on the rear! Were you running a higher upper shock mount in the rear?
