Re: Overland Expo West

Went last year. Decided to pass on it this year, I'll probably go next year. Pretty cool event with lots of great learning booths. P7 does a great job and highly recommend going to their extraction training. The RTT's are cool but way too much money and are heavy in the wrong places. Lots of cool ve...

Re: 8.8 TTB

I have thought the 9 inch with a currie or dutchman housing welded into the beam would be slick. Gearing a differentials would be limitless. Only thing standing in my way is cubic dollars. Combine that with Roberts new brakes and dana 60 hubs but for a dana 60 spread on the ball joints - bomb proof.

Re: Super charged 351w 2nd gen lightning

He is not running that much boost. Doesn't appear to be inter-cooled (but I could be wrong) so running higher pressure would be problematic, and the came is set up for torque with a roots type blower. Probably a decent build.

Re: My VERY mild DD

Wouldn't waste my time on doing heads or the top end unless you want to do a overhaul. Just replace the intake gasket and use black silicon in place of the end seals. Replace the T-stat and bypass hose.

Site for calculating needed gas springs

Others have figured out what gas springs to use and there are kits on the market for Broncos. If you were to do something different here is a site to help calculated the gas springs for the hood.http://www.gecea.com/hatchlifters/gas-springs

Re: short course or Full 4 link

I wouldn't get too wrapped up in the way to go. One of the advantages of the desert style is that you run shorter shocks and they have a slower shaft speed over any given bump. They will run cooler. That said you look at the buggies running at a near one to one and they work fine. Dependent on what ...

Re: The Top 10 Bronco Fab sh*t I hate !

Steve, The right tool for the job. Snap on chisel has the power to get it done. Never could understand the whining about the rivets. They pop right out. Now the thing that sucks are #1 replacing the valve cover gaskets, #2 fuel pump on a full tank, #3 Door hinges with factory fenders, #4 getting the...

89 Full Build Bronco

Too good to die, she is back and in good hands but will be built quite differently. http://www.gofastbroncos.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=3712 Basically a rebuild/build thread. Ended up with the chassis and a few parts. The rest of the truck was parted out. I am having to purchase some of the part...

Re: 351w to c-6 with NP205

Old Ford Motorsport catalogs used to have engine building tips. The text below is from an add but it outlines one of the problems with the 400M. I remember reading about this mod after toasting the engine in my Dad's truck. Cheap fix. Another way to address it is to bush the lifter bores. One of the...

Re: 351w to c-6 with NP205

One down fall of the 400 is the oiling system, make the needed changes and then you have a solid engine. They make good power but are heavy for what they are.

Re: Frame Notches, Inner Fender & Hydro Bumps???

Check out CHO's build. He does a notch and adds pieces above the notch. Granted he is supporting with a cage, think your asking for trouble if not additionally supported by a cage.

Re: Custom Fuel Filler Neck/Tube???

Careful on your diesel as the problem gets worse and the vent needs to be bigger. Diesel foams and creates pressure and triggers the pump off. Found this out on a diesel conversion. Had to get the neck designed for diesel as opposed to gas.

You can ask them to remove any questionably sexual vents and have them make straight style fenders for you. I am sure they can give it to you any way you like.
