Re: The TTB Flareside

Just means some more re-enforcement!! I'm building the new pivot bracket right now, it'll tie into the frame and cross member. I've also plated my cross member a bit. The new Autofab motor mounts will look nice in there!!

Re: The TTB Flareside

No none were loose, they had been converted from stock to 1/2" gr8 bolts and washers with steel locking nuts. I'm running uni-balls on the inners and hiems on the radius arms, not sure if having no give might have sped up the cracking?

Re: The TTB Flareside

Stronger and no whine!! You can run a bigger tire and steer without any effort. They're just an all around better system under extreme conditions.

Re: The TTB Flareside

You can get those boxes out of early 80's Econoline Vans, they steer the same way as the stock f-150 box and the pitman arm works awesome with cut and turned beams. One of the bolt holes from the stock box lines up and the rest you have to drill. The vans also use a Saginaw pump and the later fuel i...

Re: The TTB Flareside

Thanks! I got the Walkers cheap and have always liked the look of them. My cross member cracked around my drivers side beam mount, just a warning to watch for this on trucks that are abused like mine!! http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac319/BajaDale/PB150006.jpg http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Gunit's class 3 racer build

So is this a class 3 or 4400? I see on pirate everyone is calling it a 4400? That would be cool to be legal to run either class if you wanted!!

Re: Big Bertha

Thanks alot...... now you got me thinking about building a tow rig. Good job on yours so far!! I'm thinking the same kinda thing, crewcab shortbox with a 5.9 cummins. My buddy Reg at RCTS Canada tells me Cummins are a dime a dozen up where he lives in Calgary. Been trying to get him to bring one ba...

Re: The TTB Flareside

Thanks! I know Steve, I ditched the flareside when I figured it was worth more to sell the box complete than to hack it all apart to fit on the truck. I thought of getting Autofab flareside box sides but Jason at Fiberwerx helps us out at our shop so I got a pretty good deal on this stuff. This wint...

Re: The TTB Flareside

I'm running an 18" stroke shock mounted on the front of the housing. The bump stop looks a little deceiving in those pics, when the truck is sitting at a static height the bumps are only about an inch back off center line of the housing.

Re: The TTB Flareside

I'll take some measurements tonight. I just bought the whole kit from Geoff so it came with the brackets already fabbed up and drilled. I know I had the long shackle that Geoff makes on the truck at first but it sat too low so he sent me the shorter shackle.

Re: The TTB Flareside

Oops! It's a Giant Motorsports 64" spring under kit. So far I like it alot but I was only running a smooth body shock with it. I just got some King 3" bypasses for the rear so that should make a huge difference!!

Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!! 8-) 8-) http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg162/bajanorthprotruck/P6060003.jpg http://...
